On Tuesday, April 30th, as early evening light settled across San Francisco, Luminaire San Francisco opened its doors in partnership with Luxe Interiors + Design to welcome a vibrant gathering of designers, architects, and contemporary tastemakers into a space defined not only by objects, but by the ideas and ambitions that animate them.
From 5pm to 8pm, the showroom transformed into a setting of lively exchange and warm celebration, where conversation moved fluidly between disciplines and perspectives, and where a shared commitment to design as a force for living well shaped the atmosphere with a sense of purpose and delight.
Luxe Interiors + Design, the largest residential design media brand in the country, has long championed the home as the most meaningful expression of luxury, a place where beauty, comfort, and individuality converge to shape everyday life with intention and grace. Through its expansive reach, spanning 93 publications across 14 regional markets along with seasonal and national editions, Luxe connects an audience of discerning readers with the designers, architects, and builders who define the field today.
Earlier this year, Luxe unveiled its Gold List, a distinguished recognition of leaders across the design landscape, from visionary home builders to celebrated interior designers, from established architects to emerging voices in landscape design. The list celebrates the home as a place of reflection and reverie, of respite and celebration, where thoughtful design transforms space into something both deeply personal and universally resonant.
With 476 firms recognized, including 255 debut honorees, 179 alumni, and 42 luminaries celebrated for five consecutive years or more, the Gold List reflects a community defined by dedication, creativity, and an enduring commitment to excellence.
Within the context of Luminaire’s San Francisco showroom, this recognition took on a spatial dimension. Surrounded by pioneering works of modern and contemporary design, guests experienced the dialogue between the individuals shaping the industry and the objects that embody its evolution. The evening became more than a celebration of achievement; it became an immersion into the living language of design itself.
At Luminaire, the role of host extends beyond hospitality. It is an act of curation, a careful orchestration of people, objects, and ideas that allows meaningful connections to emerge.
Throughout the evening, conversations unfolded among designers, architects, and clients, each exchange reinforcing the belief that design is not confined to objects alone, but lives in the relationships it fosters and the experiences it shapes. The showroom became a place of recognition and possibility, where established voices and emerging talents met not only to celebrate past accomplishments, but to imagine future collaborations.
By bringing together the creators behind the homes that grace the pages of Luxe, Luminaire reaffirmed its commitment to supporting design wherever it thrives, positioning itself as both a platform and a partner in the ongoing evolution of the field.
The evening carried with it a sense of celebration that extended beyond recognition, moving into something more enduring. It became a moment in which design revealed its capacity to connect, to inspire, and to transform, not only through the spaces it shapes, but through the people it brings together.
In honoring the achievements of the Gold List, Luminaire also honored the broader idea that the home remains one of the most powerful sites of design, a place where innovation meets intimacy, and where the simplest gestures of form and material can shape the way we live and feel.

Experience the environments and ideas that shaped this evening by visiting Luminaire’s San Francisco showroom, where contemporary design is presented not as a static display, but as an evolving dialogue.
Schedule a private consultation to explore how these perspectives can be translated into your own space, creating a home that reflects both personal vision and the enduring power of thoughtful design.

The Cassina Cab Armchair: When Leather Becomes Structure
Mario Bellini's Cab Armchair for Cassina, introduced in 1977, proposed something the furniture world had not seen before: leather not as a covering, but as a load-bearing skin. This is a study in how a single material can rewrite the logic of an entire object, and why that object still holds its ground in contemporary design culture.
