Jacopo Foggini was born in 1966 in Turin, Italy, and currently lives and works in Milan. He began his creative journey working in his family’s plastics business, where he discovered the aesthetic and chromatic potential of methacrylate and polycarbonate, industrial materials often used in automotive components. Fascinated by their qualities, he began experimenting with the materials in the early 1990s, developing his own technique to heat and manipulate them, creating luminous shapes, threads and monumental works.
His first solo exhibition was held in 1997 in the space of his friend and designer Romeo Gigli in Milan. Since then Foggini has exhibited in over sixty galleries and venues around the world, producing striking installations and sculptures that combine color, light and texture into pieces that feel alive and poetic. He collaborates with leading design brands including Edra, creating furniture and objects noted for their expressive use of polycarbonate and methacrylate. Foggini’s work is held in important cultural collections and has been commissioned for major international projects and exhibitions.
