Massimo Castagna

Massimo Castagna was born on November 13, 1957 in Iseo, Italy. He graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1984 and founded his studio AD Architettura in 1986, beginning a multidisciplinary practice that spans architecture, interior design, and product design. Early in his career he developed residential, commercial, and research projects, including the Pyramid Laboratory built in Nepal in 1991 for the Everest-K2-CNR scientific research program, a project selected for the Milan Triennale.

Over the years Castagna has become a prominent figure in contemporary Italian design, collaborating with leading international brands including Henge, Gallotti&Radice, Giorgetti, Ceccotti Collezioni, Minotti, Flou, and Exteta. His work is recognized for its attention to materials such as stone, metals, and wood, often creating interiors and furniture pieces that combine architectural presence with refined craftsmanship. Through both architecture and product design, Castagna continues to contribute to the evolving identity of modern Italian luxury design.
