Luminaire continues to define its presence on the West Coast not simply through design, but through moments that gather people across art, architecture, luxury, and culture into a shared atmosphere of discovery. Recently in San Francisco and Los Angeles, two events unfolded as living expressions of how design moves through contemporary life with intention and grace.

In San Francisco, Italian Design Meets Artistic Expression
On Thursday, June 5, in partnership with Molteni&C, Luminaire hosted an intimate private dinner at the Molteni&C Flagship Showroom in San Francisco, where Italian craftsmanship and contemporary art met in a setting designed for connection.
Co-hosted by actor and artist Billy Zane, the evening placed his abstract works in riveting dialogue with the surrounding architecture and furnishings, blurring the line between collectible design and personal expression. Rather than sitting apart from the space, his paintings lived within it, arresting and alluring.
Guests including Gordon Knox, President of the San Francisco Art Institute, Olivia Hsu Decker, and Iryna Voskerician gathered around a table dressed in florals, where conversation moved easily between art, design, real estate, and philanthropy, aligned in perspective and passion.
“This was about dissolving the frame—letting art live among objects that are equally sculptural, equally alive. It’s in these spaces that new conversations emerge.”
- Billy Zane
The impact here was subtle but lasting, a reminder that when thoughtfully brought together, creative worlds enhance each other’s sensibilities and reach.

Billy Zane x Luminaire Los Angeles: A Scene, A Conversation, A Point of View
On Saturday, June 7, among the carefully curated elegance of Luminaire’s West Hollywood showroom, the dialogue continued with a private reception centered around Billy Zane’s newest body of work, this time unfolding with a distinctly Los Angeles rhythm.

Set among pieces by Edra, Agape, and Piero Lissoni, the exhibition invited guests into a layered environment where design, art, and lifestyle merged seamlessly.
Leaders from across luxury and entertainment, including Aston Martin Beverly Hills, McLaren Beverly Hills, O’Gara Coach, Petrossian Caviar, LA Magazine, and tag Front, moved through the evening, which was shaped by bespoke cocktails, live jazz, and an impromptu artist talk.
“When design is deeply considered, it becomes a frame for memory, for emotion. It’s not separate from art. It’s part of the same language.”
- Billy Zane
Here, the impact was immediate, a convergence of industries and personalities that positioned design not as background, but as a central force within contemporary culture.

A Continuing Dialogue
Across both cities, the message was clear. Luminaire nourishes spaces where culture gathers and evolves. These events were not simply about what was shown, but about who came together, what was exchanged, and what continues afterward.
On the West Coast, that kind of moment does not linger subtly. It moves outward, shaping taste, conversation, and the way design is experienced in the world beyond the showroom.
