PostKrisi 64 Floor Lamp
Made by Catellani & Smith
Designed by Enzo Catellani
Enzo Catellani founded Catellani & Smith in Bergamo in 1989, guided by a conviction that light should be made by hand, with feeling. Each piece from the atelier carries that sensibility, favoring raw materiality and deliberate imperfection over industrial precision.
The PostKrisi 64 belongs to a collection named after a childhood memory: the plastic bags his children would place over their heads, distorting light and color into something strange and beautiful. That poetic origin is still present in every shade. Formed from fiberglass, the shades diffuse warm light while their jagged, fringed edges cast irregular shadows that shift with the hour and the angle of view.
- Metal base and rod available in black varnished finish with untreated brass rod, or fully nickel-plated

The result is a lamp that reads as sculpture even when unlit, and as atmosphere the moment it is switched on.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the origin of the PostKrisi collection name?
Enzo Catellani named the collection after a childhood image: his children playing with plastic bags over their heads, which distorted light and color in unexpected ways. That sense of transformed, softened illumination is the conceptual foundation of every piece in the series.
What finish combinations are available for the PostKrisi 64?
The lamp is offered with a black varnished base paired with an untreated brass rod, or with a fully nickel-plated base and rod. Each metal configuration can be combined with fiberglass shades in either a natural or white varnished finish.
What type of light source does the PostKrisi 64 use?
It uses three E27 LED bulbs rated at 2700K for warm white light, with a total output of 2700 lumens and a CRI above 80, which renders colors with good fidelity.
Does the PostKrisi 64 have dimming capability?
Yes. The lamp includes a floor dimmer with a memory last-step function, available on the 240V version, allowing it to return to the previously set brightness level each time it is switched on.
Where is the PostKrisi 64 manufactured?
It is made in Italy at the Catellani & Smith atelier in Bergamo, where each piece is produced by hand in small quantities, consistent with the studio's craft-first philosophy.
