Island Bench System by Established & Sons is Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec's 2022 modular bench system for transitional and communal spaces. Designed to encourage sitting, perching, lounging, and informal meetings, it turns circulation zones into purposeful places without blocking sightlines or disrupting natural movement.

Built from long modular units with steel support, cross-laminated timber panels, optional upholstery, partitions, tables, cushions, and charging modules, Island can be scaled and specified for different interiors. Its understated design makes it especially effective in offices, lobbies, educational environments, and hospitality settings. Its modular logic also supports future changes, allowing spaces to evolve as patterns of use shift over time. The system feels calm, useful, and socially generous without imposing on the surrounding architecture.
