On view at Luminaire, Souvenirs of a Forgotten Past unfolds as an experimental and deeply resonant meditation on natural stone, revealing its versatility and refinement through the lens of cultural diaspora. Conceived through the collaborative vision of SolidNature and Secrets of the Universe, the exhibition gathers nine designers and artists, each invited to shape a “souvenir” in stone, an object that carries within it a personal passage across cultures, memory, and place.
These works feel lived, shaped by movement and recollection, where material becomes a surface through which experience is both held and revealed.

Material as Memory
Organized in collaboration with SolidNature, a brand recognized for its rare and expressive materials, and Secrets of the Universe, known for their investigative architectural installations, the exhibition marks a focused yet expansive moment within SolidNature’s trajectory. It engages the evolving dialogue around identity, belonging, and the human connection to place with a sensitivity that is both intellectual and deeply felt.
Each piece emerges from the convergence of cultures within a new environment, guided by memory and shaped by migration. Materials sourced from across the globe carry with them traces of origin, echoing the layered narratives of those who transform them.
"Each work reflects the inherent beauty found in both the stone and the stories it embodies, where geological time and human experience exist in quiet alignment."
- SolidNature CEO David Mahyari

A Dialogue Within the Space
Within Luminaire’s showroom, where modern and contemporary design is presented with intention and clarity, the exhibition introduces a dialogue that extends beyond object and into atmosphere. While these works reside within the space, they also recalibrate it, drawing attention to the emotional and cultural dimensions embedded within material.
Stone, often understood as permanent and immovable, is approached here as something reflective and intimate, shaped by memory as much as by hand. Each piece offers a point of connection, inviting a slower way of seeing, where the boundaries between object, story, and self begin to soften.

Engage with Thoughtful Material
At Luminaire, exhibitions such as Souvenirs of a Forgotten Past are part of an ongoing commitment to curating and interpreting design as a cultural and human language. Through a thoughtful orchestration of objects, ideas, and environments, Luminaire creates spaces where material and meaning converge, allowing design to be experienced in its fullest dimension.
Encounter this exhibition in person and move through a landscape of memory and material, where each work offers a story shaped in stone and carried across time. We invite you to visit Luminaire and experience Souvenirs of a Forgotten Past, to engage with these works not only as objects of design, but as expressions of identity, connection, and the enduring resonance of place.
