LC10-p Square Low Table

The LC10-p was designed in 1929 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand as part of their broader program of furniture conceived with the rigor of architectural design. It was reissued by Cassina under the i Maestri collection, which preserves the original proportions and material specifications.

i Maestri is Cassina's collection of historically significant furniture produced under exclusive license from the estates and foundations of the original designers. Cassina has held the license to produce the Le Corbusier, Jeanneret, and Perriand pieces since 1964, working directly with the Fondation Le Corbusier to ensure fidelity to the originals.

The square plan was a deliberate compositional choice, reflecting the trio's interest in geometric discipline and spatial equality. Unlike a rectangle, the square format has no dominant axis, which creates a more demanding and architecturally precise relationship with the furniture and space around it.

The table combines a crystal-clear glass top with a base of enameled tubular steel. Both materials were central to the modernist vocabulary of the late 1920s, chosen for their structural clarity and their ability to express form without applied ornament.

The LC10-p belongs to the same systematic furniture program that produced the LC2 armchair, the LC4 chaise longue, and the LC7 swivel chair. Each piece was developed with the same underlying logic: a separation of structure from surface, strict geometric proportion, and the use of industrial materials. They are designed to coexist, though each functions independently.
