Description
Inspired by the traditional milking stools used by shepherds in the Alps, Charlotte Perriand’s Tabouret Stools exude a simple honesty in form, material, and function. The stools, available in three wood finishes and two sizes, are distinguished by their gently indented turned seat and their stylized tripod legs. The low stool, called the Tabouret Berger, features three hand-turned solid wood legs while the high stool, called the Tabouret Meribel, features three unique angular legs.
Originally intended for the celebrated French designer’s own chalet in the mountains of France, the Tabouret Stools have become enduring icons of the modern design movement and reflect the rational and humanistic approach Perriand is known for. Shown for the first time in 1955, the Tabouret Stools are now carefully produced by Cassina who continues the fine craftsmanship true to the original.
These stools can be used alone as additional seating or combined into groupings for a stunning effect.
