100 Sculptural Cable
Made by Bocci
Designed by Omer Arbel
Omer Arbel's 100 Series began as an investigation into what happens when multiple glassblowers work simultaneously on a single form. Each pendant in the collection is the product of that collaboration: glass spheres shaped, fused, and interlocked in real time, producing subtle variations that no two pieces share.
The Sculptural Cable system extends that logic into the installation itself. Rather than receding into the ceiling, the cables become active elements of the composition, allowing pendants to cluster tightly or drift across a wider field. The suspension is not infrastructure - it is part of the work.
- Configurations from one to 61 pendants, scaling from intimate accent to full architectural installation
- Clear, Grey, and Pink glass, each producing distinct effects with warm 2700K LED illumination
- Black or nickel cables with multiple anchor finish options for precise specification
The result speaks equally to residential interiors and large public spaces. Scale shifts the reading entirely: a single pendant foregrounds the blown-glass form, while a dense cluster becomes something closer to a suspended landscape in glass.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who designed the Bocci 100 Series?
The 100 Series was designed by Omer Arbel, the Vancouver-based architect and artist who serves as creative director of Bocci. The collection grew from his ongoing exploration of collaborative glassblowing, where multiple makers work simultaneously on a single piece to produce forms that resist exact repetition.
How does the Sculptural Cable differ from a standard pendant suspension?
Unlike a conventional pendant system where the cable is purely functional, the Sculptural Cable is designed to be visible and compositional. Its flexibility allows pendants to be positioned closely together or spread across a broader field, so the arrangement of cables becomes as much a part of the visual statement as the glass forms themselves.
What glass color options are available, and how do they affect the light?
The 100 Sculptural Cable is available in Clear, Grey, and Pink glass. Clear glass allows the warm 2700K LED source to read directly through the interlocking spheres, Grey softens and diffuses the glow, and Pink introduces a subtle chromatic warmth that shifts the ambient quality of the space.
How large can a 100 Sculptural Cable installation be?
Configurations range from a single pendant to groupings of up to 61 pendants. Smaller arrangements function as focused accent lighting, while larger configurations scale to architectural installations suitable for public lobbies, atria, and significant residential volumes.
Is every piece in the 100 Series truly unique?
Yes. Because each pendant is formed by multiple glassblowers working together in real time - shaping and fusing molten spheres simultaneously - the process itself prevents exact duplication. Minor differences in proportion, surface, and the junctions between spheres are inherent to the method, not incidental to it.
