73t Table Lamp
Made by Bocci
Designed by Omer Arbel
Omer Arbel developed the 73 Series around a process as much as a form. Molten glass is inflated into folded textile molds saturated with ceramic, and as the glass cools, it captures every crease and weave of the fabric before the mold burns away. The result is a surface that no fabrication tool could replicate, one that is entirely the consequence of material and heat and chance.
The 73t brings this process to the table. A single handmade 73 pendant is paired with Bocci's sculptural base hardware, offered in brass or black. An integrated dimming system sits within a clean cylinder, and the semi-rigid black fabric cord can be gently curved to suit the composition of a surface. Each piece is unique. The light it emits is soft and atmospheric, shaped by the organic contours of the glass itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the glass in the Bocci 73 Series made?
Molten glass is hand-blown into folded textile molds that have been saturated with ceramic. As the glass cools and takes on the exact texture of the fabric, the mold burns away, leaving a surface defined entirely by the weave and creases of the original textile. No two pieces are identical.
What finish options are available for the 73t base?
The 73t table hardware is available in brass or black. Both finishes are paired with the same semi-rigid black fabric cord and integrated dimmer cylinder.
Does the 73t Table Lamp have a built-in dimmer?
Yes. An integral dimming system is housed within the base cylinder, allowing light output to be adjusted without a separate wall control or external dimmer switch.
Who is Omer Arbel and what is his connection to Bocci?
Omer Arbel is a Canadian architect and designer who serves as the creative director of Bocci, the Vancouver-based design and manufacturing studio he co-founded. His work across the Bocci catalog is defined by process-led methods, where the behavior of materials during making determines the final form.
Is the Bocci 73t appropriate for residential and contract projects?
The 73t is specified in both residential and hospitality contexts. Its integrated dimmer and the sculptural quality of the handblown glass make it well-suited to settings where a single object is intended to carry significant visual weight on a surface.
