Muller Van Severen approach furniture as a form of spatial drawing. The Z24 Books bookcase, designed in 2025, is a direct expression of that sensibility: the zig-zag motif, long present in the Belgian duo's formal vocabulary, is here given new scale and function as an open shelving system.
The frame is polished painted steel, offered in six considered colorways: talc, caramel, orange, amaranth, algae, and espresso. Shelves are MDF veneered in natural varnished oak, introducing warmth against the graphic precision of the metal structure. The contrast is deliberate, balancing industrial clarity with organic grain.
Z24 Books is available in high and low versions. The taller configuration can be placed side by side and connected via a provided joint, allowing individual units to form an extended composition. Whether standing alone or joined in sequence, the bookcase reads as architecture as much as furniture.
