Poltrona da esterno Doron Hotel
Made by Cassina
Designed by Charlotte Perriand

Domande Frequenti
When and where did Charlotte Perriand design the Doron chair?
Perriand designed the Doron Hotel chair in 1947 for the Méribel Les Allues ski resort in the French Alps. The design reflects her deep engagement with natural materials and the functional demands of alpine living.
Why is teak used for the outdoor version of the Doron chair?
Teak is prized for its high natural oil content and dense grain, which make it exceptionally resistant to moisture, temperature fluctuation, and prolonged sun exposure. These properties make it a considered choice for outdoor furniture intended to age gracefully.
Is the Doron Hotel Armchair available as a made-to-order piece?
Yes, the Doron Hotel Armchair is available as a made-to-order piece, with fabric selections to suit specific project requirements. Lead times and configurations are best confirmed through a design consultant.
How does this outdoor version relate to the original Doron design?
Cassina produces the outdoor Doron under the Perriand archive, preserving the original proportions and silhouette while specifying materials appropriate for exterior conditions. The teak frame and weather-resistant upholstery are adaptations of the alpine original, not departures from it.
Is the Doron Hotel Armchair suitable for contract or hospitality use?
The chair's origins are themselves hospitality, having been created for a ski hotel. Its solid teak construction and durable upholstery make it well suited for high-quality contract and outdoor hospitality environments.
