Fernando Campana

Born 1961 | Brazil

Fernando Campana was born in 1961 in Brotas, São Paulo, Brazil. He studied architecture at the Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado in São Paulo before beginning his design career in the early 1980s. Early in his practice he explored sculpture and experimental objects, developing a creative language that celebrated improvisation, raw materials, and Brazilian cultural references.

Although widely recognized for his collaborations with his brother Humberto Campana in the internationally acclaimed Campana Studio, Fernando also pursued independent work focused on material experimentation and artisanal techniques. His designs often incorporate found objects, recycled elements, and handcrafted processes, reflecting a playful yet thoughtful approach that bridges art, design, and craft.
