Plano Outdoor Dining Table
Made by Paola Lenti
Designed by Francesco Rota
Designed by Francesco Rota for Paola Lenti, the Plano Outdoor Dining Table is a study in considered materiality. Its concrete top is individually molded, meaning no two surfaces are identical. Natural variations in shade and texture are part of the design, not a byproduct of it.
The base and top support are fabricated from cataphoresis-treated, matte-varnished steel, available in avorio or grafite. This electrocoating process bonds a protective layer deep into the metal, providing resistance suited to outdoor exposure. The concrete top is treated against liquids and grease, preserving its surface without diminishing its raw character.
- Available in two heights, accommodating standard dining and bar configurations
- Steel base in avorio or grafite, with color-matched concrete top
- Handcrafted concrete top with natural variation in shade and texture
- Cataphoresis-treated steel for outdoor durability
- Concrete surface treated for resistance to liquids and grease
Rota's approach to outdoor furniture resists the impulse to soften or domesticate. The Plano reads equally well on a sheltered terrace as it does in a more rugged garden setting, owing as much to its proportions as to its materials.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes each Plano concrete top unique?
Each concrete top is individually molded, which produces natural variations in shade and surface texture. These differences are inherent to the handcrafting process and are considered part of the design's character.
What is cataphoresis treatment on the steel base?
Cataphoresis, also called electrocoating or e-coating, is a process that uses electrical current to deposit a protective layer uniformly across a metal surface. It provides strong corrosion resistance, making it well suited to outdoor furniture exposed to weather.
Is the Plano table suitable for permanent outdoor installation?
Yes. Both the cataphoresis-treated steel base and the grease- and liquid-resistant concrete top are designed for outdoor use. Paola Lenti's materials are selected specifically for durability in exterior environments.
What finish and color options are available for the Plano table?
The steel base and top support are available in avorio (ivory) or grafite (graphite), with the concrete top color matched to the chosen base finish.
Who is Francesco Rota?
