Mae Outdoor Lounge Chair
Made by Paola Lenti
Gabriele and Oscar Buratti designed Mae for Paola Lenti with a clear sense of what outdoor repose should feel like: grounded, considered, and built for duration. The frame is AISI 304 stainless steel, finished in a matte avorio or grafite, or in a gloss drawn from the Mano Lucida wood sample collection. Elastic belts span the seat and backrest, held in place by plastic spacers that allow the structure to breathe under load.
Beneath the removable upholstery lies a stress-resistant polyurethane core wrapped in polyester fiber and sealed with a waterproof cover. The construction responds seriously to outdoor conditions without surrendering comfort or proportion. Mae belongs to a design sensibility that treats the exterior as an extension of considered interior space, not a compromise of it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Paola Lenti fabrics suitable for outdoor use?
Paola Lenti develops its outdoor textiles, including Rope T and Brio, specifically for exposure to UV light, moisture, and temperature variation. The fibers are solution-dyed or treated for colorfastness and resist mold and mildew without sacrificing the tactile quality the brand is known for.
Who are designers Gabriele and Oscar Buratti?
Gabriele and Oscar Buratti are Italian industrial designers and brothers whose studio has collaborated with some of Europe's most respected furniture and object manufacturers. Their work is characterized by formal clarity and a precise attention to material performance.
Can the Mae lounge chair be used indoors as well?
Yes. The Mae is engineered for outdoor conditions, but its material quality and refined silhouette make it equally appropriate in covered interior spaces such as conservatories, lobbies, or living rooms where a weather-resistant construction is desirable.
How is the Mae chair's seat pad attached and maintained?
The seat pad is fully removable, which allows for straightforward cleaning or replacement. The waterproof cover protects the polyurethane core, and most Paola Lenti upholstery fabrics can be wiped down or gently hand-washed depending on the specific textile selected.
What finish options are available on the Mae stainless steel frame?
The AISI 304 stainless steel frame is offered in matte avorio, matte grafite, or a glossy finish inspired by the Mano Lucida wood sample collection. Each finish responds differently to outdoor light and should be selected in relation to the surrounding palette and exposure conditions.
