Ingo Maurer made a career of treating light as a medium for ideas rather than a problem to be solved, and Luzy distills that sensibility into its most economical form.
There is nothing superfluous here. The glove points, the bulb glows, and the object asks questions that conventional pendant design never thinks to raise. It is provocative without being aggressive, absurdist without being frivolous. Maurer drew freely from Dada and from his own background in graphic design, and that lineage is visible in every inch of Luzy.
