The Hayama console table by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina takes its form from the Haori, a traditional Japanese jacket worn over a kimono. That silhouette, with its converging angles and oblique legs, is not decorative reference but structural logic: the same bold geometry that defines the garment defines the piece.
An overhanging door conceals interior storage divided into two compartments, making the console as functional at the entrance as it is precise in its proportions. The lacquered finish intensifies the sharpness of every line, giving each surface a depth that shifts with the light.
Hayama belongs to a family of multifunctional objects, alongside a bar and a cabinet, all sharing the same formal language. Urquiola's signature is consistent across each: restraint in form, generosity in purpose.
