Philippe Starck has long treated everyday objects as opportunities for provocation, and the Bon Jour Unplugged is among his more disarming gestures. Small enough to carry, precise enough to place anywhere, it is crafted with a seriousness that its playful silhouette only partially conceals.

The chrome base anchors a form that is both spare and considered. Above it, an interchangeable crown, available in clear or fumée, catches and diffuses light with a transparency that Starck associates with what he calls the "dematerialization" of high technology. The result is a lamp that seems to hold light rather than merely emit it.
