The tapered opaline polypropylene diffuser disperses light softly and evenly, reducing harsh glare. The material's translucency creates a warm, ambient glow rather than a directed beam, which suits both task and atmospheric use.

To mark two decades of production, Flos released a limited edition Mayday featuring a die-cast aluminum handle in place of the standard polypropylene version, adding a material contrast that underscores the lamp's industrial references.
