Patricia Urquiola conceived the Antibodi Lounge as an inquiry into form itself, asking what a seating object could be when freed from conventional upholstery. The answer arrived as petals: triangular, lightly padded fabric panels sewn together into a blooming, organic silhouette that feels as much like sculpture as furniture.
The design's central gesture is reversibility. Each petal can face upward, opening the chair into something soft and feminine, almost floral in character, or fold downward to reveal a quilted, deliberately composed surface with a more architectural severity. The two readings share the same object yet produce entirely different atmospheres.
