57t Table Lamp
Made by Bocci
Designed by Omer Arbel
Each 57T begins as molten glass, simultaneously inflated and collapsed by hand, forming deep folds, suspended air pockets, and surface geometries that resist exact repetition. Designed by Omer Arbel for Bocci, the process is as much experiment as craft. No two pieces are alike.
Unlit, the form reads as a dense, almost opaque sculpture. When illuminated, it opens inward, refracting light across surfaces that appear to exist at different depths within a single object. The result is atmospheric rather than strictly functional, closer to something that holds light than something that simply produces it.
- Experimental hand-blown glass process developed by Omer Arbel
- Each piece is singular and cannot be precisely replicated
- Integral dimming system built into the table hardware
- Shifts character entirely between lit and unlit states

Frequently Asked Questions
Is each Bocci 57T pendant truly unique?
Yes. The 57 Series glassblowing process is intentionally experimental, meaning no two pendants are identical in their internal fold structure, air pocket placement, or surface geometry. Variation is inherent to the method, not incidental.
What glassblowing technique does Omer Arbel use for the 57 Series?
Arbel developed a process in which molten glass is inflated and collapsed simultaneously, producing deep internal folds and suspended voids. The technique resists precise control, which is what gives each piece its distinctive sculptural character.
Can the cord position on the 57T be adjusted?
Yes. The semi-rigid black fabric cord is designed to be shaped by hand, allowing the pendant to be angled or positioned as part of the object's overall composition. This makes the lamp adaptable to different surface heights and contexts.
Where are Bocci lamps manufactured?
Bocci designs and produces its work in Vancouver, Canada. The glasswork is made in-house in the studio's own glass facility, which allows Omer Arbel to develop processes that would be difficult or impossible to execute through conventional manufacturing.
What finish options are available for the 57T base?
The 57T base is available in brass or black. Both versions house the integral dimming system within the same slim cylindrical form, with the finish choice primarily affecting the lamp's relationship to the surrounding environment and furniture.
