141 Series
Made by Bocci
Designed by Omer Arbel
Each pendant in the 141 Series begins as a gesture. Two ladlefuls of molten glass are poured freehand over a curved steel rod, and the resulting form is entirely its own: fluid, slightly cinematic, opening outward in a way that no process could predict or replicate. Once the glass cools and sets, the rod is removed and replaced with an LED light source, so the object that emerged from controlled chance becomes the vessel for light.
Omer Arbel founded Bocci in Vancouver in 2005, and has long treated the glassblower's furnace as a site of deliberate uncertainty. The 141 Series continues that practice with a quality that feels particularly sculptural. The overlapping poured forms read differently at every angle, catching and diffusing warm 2500K light through walls of irregular thickness. No two pendants are the same, and none could be.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is the Bocci 141 Series pendant made?
Each pendant is formed by pouring two ladlefuls of molten glass freehand over a curved steel rod. The rod is removed after the glass cools, and an LED light source is installed in its place. Because no mold is used, every pendant is a unique object.
What color temperature is the 141 Series LED source?
The 141 Series uses a 2500K LED, producing a warm, amber-toned light that complements the organic quality of the hand-poured glass forms.
Can the Bocci 141 Series be configured as a multi-pendant installation?
Bocci's pendants are designed with custom installation in mind, and the 141 Series can be specified in grouped or canopy configurations. Because each piece is made to order, arrangements can be tailored to the scale and geometry of a given space.
Who is Omer Arbel, the designer of the Bocci 141?
Omer Arbel is a Vancouver-based architect and designer who founded Bocci in 2005. His practice centers on process-driven design, particularly the use of glass as a medium where controlled conditions yield unpredictable, irreproducible forms.
Is the Bocci 141 Series suitable for residential and hospitality projects?
Yes. The 141 Series is made to order and frequently specified for both residential interiors and hospitality environments where a strong sculptural presence is desired. Its scale and warmth make it well-suited to dining spaces, reception areas, and double-height rooms.
