Fil de Fer Floor Lamp by Catellani & Smith transforms Enzo Catellani's most iconic lighting design into a sculptural floor lamp with a deeply atmospheric presence. Made from shaped and woven aluminum wire, the sphere is illuminated from within by tiny LED bulbs, creating a magical interplay of light, texture, and shadow. Originally developed almost twenty years ago for a special commission, Fil de Fer later became the most recognizable fixture in the Catellani & Smith collection.

Available in natural aluminum wire with a grey cable or matte gold anodized aluminum with a gold cable, the floor version brings the luminous character of Fil de Fer closer to the room, where it can rest as both a light source and an artful object. Its black floor dimmer includes a memory last-step function, allowing the lamp to return to its most recent light setting while preserving its relaxed, intuitive use.

Offered in four sphere diameters-30, 50, 70, and 100 cm-Fil de Fer Floor Lamp can adapt from intimate corners to expansive living rooms, hospitality interiors, and dramatic architectural spaces. Depending on the size, the warm 2700K LED light source ranges from 600 to 1,500 lumens, with CRI 80 for soft ambient illumination.
