La lampada Bonsai appartiene alla serie Turciù, la prima collezione ideata da Enzo Catellani, e rimane una delle espressioni più personali della sua sensibilità progettuale. Mentre la maggior parte delle illuminazioni non chiede nulla al suo proprietario, Bonsai chiede tutto: ciascuno dei suoi dodici bracci flessibili in ottone è destinato a essere toccato, piegato e riposizionato a mano fino a quando la composizione non sembri giusta.
La struttura sottostante è in ferro grezzo cerato, deliberatamente nella sua rudezza. Ancoraggio della lampada con un peso silenzioso, quasi minerale che lascia leggere i bracci in ottone come qualcosa di vivo al di sopra di essa. Il riferimento al bonsai non è decorativo. È filosofico: l'idea che una forma non sia mai finita, che la cura e l'intenzione possano essere riposte in essa ancora e ancora.
