Enzo Catellani ha a lungo trattato la luce come un materiale a sé stante, plasmandola con la stessa attenzione che uno scultore dedica al bronzo o alla pietra. Petites Lentilles è tra le sue espressioni più ponderate: un grande ovale di ottone non trattato che traccia una lenta orbita nello spazio, la sua superficie punteggiata da piccole lenti trasparenti incastonate in singoli supporti in ottone.
La forma si presenta diversamente a seconda dell'ora e dell'angolazione. Di giorno, l'ovale si afferma come un oggetto di quieta importanza. Dopo il tramonto, ventidue elementi LED lungo la sua circonferenza animano le lenti in punti di luce calda e amplificata, mentre una sorgente LED rivolta verso l'alto sulla base bianca illumina il soffitto soprastante.

La lampada è realizzata su ordinazione, riflettendo la sensibilità dell'atelier che ha definito Catellani & Smith fin dalla sua fondazione a Bergamo.
