Nuvola estende il lignaggio di Fil de Fer, per creare un oggetto sospeso tra scultura e atmosfera. Enzo Catellani modella e intreccia a mano il filo di alluminio in una forma che ricorda una nuvola, per poi illuminarla dall'interno con piccole lampadine calde. Il risultato è meno una lampada e più una presenza luminosa: morbida ai bordi, viva al centro.
Fil de Fer, che si traduce semplicemente con "filo di ferro", è stato fondamentale per l'identità di Catellani & Smith fin dalla sua introduzione. Il materiale è umile nell'origine e preciso nell'esecuzione. Ogni pezzo è realizzato in Italia, nell'officina che Catellani gestisce a Grassobbio, vicino a Bergamo, dal 1989. L'artigianato è visibile in ogni piega e giunzione del filo.
Nuvola è disponibile in tre misure. La versione standard è in filo di alluminio naturale con base in nichel. Su richiesta è disponibile una versione in oro anodizzato. La luce LED calda a 2700K con dimmer Triac produce tra 1.656 e 3.036 lumen a seconda del modello. I cavi di sospensione possono essere tagliati su misura e sono disponibili dimensioni aggiuntive per progetti con requisiti specifici.
