The Dry collection was designed by Achille Castiglioni, one of the most influential Italian designers of the twentieth century, known for his rigorous functionalism and dry, often humorous sensibility. He collaborated with Alessi across several projects that have since become icons of modern Italian design.

The Dry Sauce Spoon is made from 18/10 stainless steel, a grade that contains 18% chromium and 10% nickel, offering strong corrosion resistance and a lasting mirror polish. This is the standard used across professional and high-quality domestic flatware.

18/10 stainless steel is generally dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve the mirror finish on the bowl over time. The matte handle is particularly well-suited to regular use without showing wear.

The Dry collection is distinguished by its formal contrast: a high-gloss bowl paired with a deliberately matte handle. Where many flatware lines pursue a uniform finish, Castiglioni used the surface transition as a design gesture in itself, making the object both functional and compositionally resolved.
