Saint Louis
Made by Ceccotti Collezioni
Designed by Jaime Hayon
Jaime Hayon designed the Saint Louis in 2015 as a study in contrasts: the weight of ceramic against the translucency of mouth-blown glass, the warmth of brass against the cool geometry of a sphere. The result is a pendant lamp that reads as sculpture before it reads as light.
The brass structure serves as both armature and gesture, holding a ceramic lampshade above and a white glass sphere below. Light moves in two directions at once, directed downward through the shade while diffusing outward through the glass, casting a warm, layered glow rather than a single focused beam.
- Brass structural frame
- Hand-finished ceramic lampshade
- White mouth-blown glass sphere
- Designed for singular placement or multi-pendant configurations
Hayon's sensibility sits at the intersection of craft tradition and contemporary wit. His work draws on decorative arts history without reproducing it, finding proportion and personality in objects meant to last. The Saint Louis reflects that approach: considered in detail, confident in form, and genuinely expressive in any interior context.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who designed the Saint Louis pendant lamp?
The Saint Louis was designed by Jaime Hayon, a Spanish designer known for bridging decorative arts traditions with contemporary form. He created the piece for Ceccotti Collezioni in 2015.
What materials is the Saint Louis pendant made from?
The pendant combines a brass structural frame, a hand-finished ceramic lampshade, and a white mouth-blown glass sphere. Each material is chosen for its visual and tactile contrast with the others.
How does the Saint Louis distribute light?
Light is directed downward through the ceramic shade while simultaneously diffusing outward through the glass sphere below, producing a warm, layered illumination rather than a single directional beam.
Can the Saint Louis be used in a multi-pendant installation?
Yes. The lamp is designed to work both as a singular statement above a dining table or bedside and in grouped configurations, where multiple pendants create a more dramatic compositional effect.
Is Ceccotti Collezioni known for handcraft production?
Ceccotti Collezioni is a Tuscan atelier with a long tradition of artisan production, particularly in wood and mixed-material furnishings. Their lighting pieces reflect the same commitment to hand-finishing and material quality that defines their furniture.
