Réaction Poétique is a conversation across time. Jaime Hayon, whose practice moves fluidly between art, design, and craft, enters into dialogue with Le Corbusier, not the architect of Chandigarh or the Unité d'Habitation, but the painter: the biomorphic figures, the interplay of form and ground, the quiet wit that ran beneath Le Corbusier's monumental public image.
First presented in 2015, this collection of table objects translates those painted gestures into three-dimensional form. Each piece is rendered in black-stained solid ashwood, the same finish in which the collection debuted, giving the objects a graphic presence that is equally at home as sculpture and as tabletop instrument.
