Konstantin Grcic was born in 1965 in Munich, Germany. He studied furniture design at the Royal College of Art in London, where his interest in clarity, logic, and purposeful form took shape. In 1991 he founded Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID), a studio that has become a global reference for thoughtful, problem-driven design across furniture, lighting, and accessories. Grcic’s work reflects a deep engagement with how people use objects, prioritizing usability, intelligence, and honest expression in every piece.

Over his career, Grcic has collaborated with leading international brands such as Flos, Magis, Vitra, ClassiCon, Muuto, and Plank. His designs often challenge conventional aesthetics without compromising on practicality, resulting in objects that feel both contemporary and timeless. Grcic has received numerous prestigious awards for design excellence, and his work is part of major museum collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
