Michael Anastassiades conceived the IC Lights series around a single, arresting idea: the suspended moment of a sphere caught in perfect equilibrium. The F1 floor lamp gives that idea physical form with disarming economy. A polished brass-finished steel arm curves to cradle an opaline glass globe that appears to rest there by will alone.
The opaline glass diffuses light softly and evenly, eliminating harsh contrast and producing an atmosphere of considered calm. Anastassiades, born in Cyprus and based in London, has built a practice on objects that occupy the precise border between sculpture and utility.
