Antonio Citterio has spent decades reconciling opposing forces in furniture design: generosity of comfort against economy of form. The Grand Relax is among his most resolved expressions of that discipline. Compact in footprint yet genuinely enveloping in repose, it resists the excess that often defines the reclining chair as a typology.

The mechanism at the heart of the chair is fully concealed within the seat structure, a synchronized system that allows the backrest to recline and lock at any chosen angle without interrupting the clean exterior silhouette. Nothing protrudes. Nothing announces itself.

The outer backrest is finished in embossed split leather, forming a shield-like shell that both defines the chair's profile and wraps the sitter in a quiet sense of enclosure. The ottoman continues that language, grounding the composition and completing the posture of rest.
