The Mikado Side Chair, designed by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby for Vitra, combines elegance with exceptional comfort. Its refined form features full upholstery on all sides and a dynamic backrest that moves with the sitter, providing a comfortable recline thanks to a discreet mechanism beneath the seat. Unlike the armchair version, the Mikado Side Chair's rounded backrest has shorter sides, offering a more open design. Made with sustainability in mind, the chair incorporates recycled materials, including a recycled aluminum seat panel and a backrest shell produced from post-consumer polypropylene. The removable covers and replaceable legs—available in wood or recycled aluminum—enhance its long-term versatility, ensuring that the Mikado Side Chair is a timeless and eco-friendly choice for any space.
