Verner Panton conceived this chair through the 1960s as a provocation: could a single continuous form, molded from one material, replace every strut, joint, and leg? The answer arrived in 1967, when Vitra brought the design into production. Nothing quite like it had existed before.

The cantilevered S-curve distributes weight with quiet engineering confidence, and the ergonomic contour follows the body without a single seam. Produced today in recyclable polypropylene with a matte finish, the chair is equally at home indoors or out. Available in Black and White.
