Jean-Marie Massaud conceived the Downtown Lounge Armchair and Ottoman as a natural extension of his Downtown office collection, carrying its disciplined geometry into a posture suited for rest. The slightly reclined seat angle is deliberate, encouraging the body to settle without compromising the chair's compositional uprightness.
Poltrona Frau offers two structural options: a fixed solid wood base that grounds the form with warmth and permanence, or a swivel aluminum base with a 360-degree return mechanism that introduces a quiet dynamism. Both are resolved with the same attention to proportion that has defined the Tolentino atelier since 1912.
