Designed in 1988, the Taraxacum 88 translates that geometry into a near-spherical icosahedron: twenty polished die-cast aluminum triangular faces, precisely angled to cradle sixty clear Globolux lamps.
The piece performs differently at different distances. From across a large room it reads as a single luminous mass, dense and complete. Closer, the composition opens up: individual facets, exposed bulbs, and cascading reflections reveal the industrial rigor beneath the sculptural surface. Light travels both directly outward and back off the polished aluminum, filling generous volumes with an ambient glow that avoids harshness.
