Antonio Citterio conceived the Loungescape not as a single object, but as an environment unto itself. Its modular architecture draws cushions into a continuous, organic form, each angle of inclination calibrated to receive the body in a state of rest rather than alertness.
The defining tension of the piece lies in its raked base. What reads at first as dense, monolithic mass is quietly contradicted by the way the base lifts the form, introducing a visual lightness that shifts the proportion of the room around it. The swivel mechanism in wood and metal adds a quiet versatility without compromising the silhouette.
Cushions filled with goose down over polyurethane foam achieve a softness that holds its shape across years of use. Removable, replaceable upholstery covers allow the piece to evolve alongside its interior without requiring replacement of the whole.
