Cutter Bench

The Cutter Bench is the work of Danish designer Niels Hvass, developed in close collaboration with Fritz Hansen. Its form is rooted in Bauhaus discipline: a slatted seat held within a coherent, unornamented frame that refuses unnecessary gesture. Every line is deliberate, every proportion considered.
Solid teak gives the bench its materiality. Left untreated, the wood weathers gracefully over time, developing a quiet patina that only deepens the object's character. The teak version is suited to both interior and exterior use, making it one of the few pieces in the Cutter series that moves between a hallway entry and a garden terrace with equal confidence.
