Named for René Descartes, whose writings on optics reshaped how light was understood, the Cartesio 90 translates that intellectual heritage into physical form. A circular mirror, 90 centimeters in diameter, appears to float without visible support, held in place by a sophisticated clamping mechanism that eliminates the need for wall anchors or ceiling wires.
The lamp distributes light in two directions at once. A direct beam falls downward while a softer wash rises toward the ceiling, producing an atmosphere that feels inhabited rather than simply lit. The disc reads as both fixture and phenomenon, a ring of reflected light that shifts with the room around it.
