Sebastian Herkner

Born 1981 | Germany

Sebastian Herkner is a German product and interior designer known for work that brings together color, texture, cultural references, and exceptional craftsmanship with a distinctly contemporary sensibility. Born in 1981 in Bad Mergentheim, Germany, he studied product design at HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design, where he began shaping the approach that would define his career: combining new technologies with traditional craft to reveal the expressive beauty of materials. He founded his own studio in 2006 and, over time, developed collaborations with leading international brands across furniture, lighting, and objects. His international breakthrough came with the Bell Table for ClassiCon in 2012, a piece that helped establish him as one of the most influential voices in contemporary European design. Herkner's work is admired for its warmth, sophistication, and ability to make even highly sculptural pieces feel deeply human.
