The Tara Dining Table takes its name from a site of ancient Irish kingship, and something of that gravitas persists in its form. The base, cast in integrally pigmented fiber-reinforced concrete, reads as a pair of specular monolithic elements whose concave curves introduce a sensual counterpoint to their mineral weight.
Despite the density of the material, the geometry keeps the silhouette open and the profile surprisingly light. Concrete's tonal complexity, with its subtle shifts across surface and shadow, does much of the visual work.
The top is offered in back-painted glass or wood veneer, each creating a distinct atmosphere. Glass amplifies the contrast between transparency and mass; veneer softens it, drawing the eye toward warmth and grain rather than reflection. Both readings are coherent with Flexform's long-standing commitment to precision over decoration.
