Nendo's Thin Black Table for Cappellini begins with a deceptively simple premise: two off-axis cubes intersecting at their L-shaped edges to form a low geometric structure that reads differently from every angle. The result is not one silhouette but many, shifting as you move around it.
The matte black metal frame is drawn with the precision of a line rather than the weight of a mass. Laid over it, an ultralight glass top appears almost incidental, hovering above the structure without visual interruption. The transparency of both elements compounds the effect, producing a composition that recalls M.C. Escher's impossible geometries without replicating them literally.
