To Enjoy Bronze Sculpture

Lost-wax casting, or cire perdue, is one of the oldest bronze-working techniques. A wax model is encased in ceramic, the wax is melted out, and molten bronze is poured into the resulting cavity. This process preserves fine surface detail and allows each cast to carry the direct marks of the sculptor's hand.

Bronze is highly durable and develops a natural patina when exposed to the elements. While this piece is designed to tolerate sheltered outdoor environments, placement away from direct, prolonged weather exposure will best preserve its applied green patina finish over time.
