Lacy Bowl
Made by DeCoro
The Lacy Bowl began with a single observation: that a basket, stripped of its utility, becomes pure gesture. Fabio Cocchi and Luigi Rotta translated that idea into blown glass, coaxing the material into arcing lines that wrap and breathe around the vessel's form.
Each curve is a deliberate decision. The lines neither close nor contain, allowing light to pass through the structure and cast soft shadows on the surfaces around it. The result reads simultaneously as object and drawing, a silhouette that changes depending on where you stand.
- Blown glass construction with curved, open-form lines
- Available in two sizes, suited to tabletop display or use as a centerpiece
- Designed by Fabio Cocchi and Luigi Rotta for DeCoro
DeCoro occupies a precise position in Italian decorative arts: objects made with industrial craft and shaped by a consistent formal sensibility. The Lacy Bowl reflects that positioning, arriving at something poetic through purely disciplined means.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Lacy Bowl made of?
The Lacy Bowl is crafted from blown glass, shaped into curved open lines that form the body of the vessel. The blown glass technique allows each piece to carry subtle variation while maintaining the precision of the intended form.
Who designed the DeCoro Lacy Bowl?
The Lacy Bowl was designed by Fabio Cocchi and Luigi Rotta for DeCoro, an Italian brand known for decorative objects that sit at the intersection of craft and formal restraint.
What sizes does the Lacy Bowl come in?
The Lacy Bowl is available in two sizes. The smaller version functions well as a fruit bowl or tabletop accent, while the larger size is proportioned for use as a dining table centerpiece.
Is the Lacy Bowl functional or purely decorative?
The Lacy Bowl is both. Its open blown glass structure makes it suitable for holding fruit or small objects, while its sculptural silhouette gives it weight as a standalone decorative piece.
How does the Lacy Bowl's design relate to Italian decorative traditions?
The piece draws on Italy's deep tradition of blown glass craft while applying a contemporary, reductive formal language. Cocchi and Rotta reduce the basket archetype to its essential gesture, producing an object that feels historic and immediate at once.
