Diana B Side Table
Made by Classicon
Designed by Konstantin Grcic
Konstantin Grcic arrived at the Diana series through sustained reduction. Each piece in the collection is cut from a single sheet of steel, its silhouette shaped by repeated study of positive and negative voids. The Diana B is not assembled so much as revealed.
Grcic examined every line, every radius, every surface with deliberate care. The result is an object that resists easy categorization: part sculpture, part furniture, wholly considered. Powder coating is treated as a formal decision, not a finish. Color becomes structure.
The Diana series functions as a kind of alphabet. Models A through F were designed for combination and contrast, each with its own proportion and presence. Together or alone, they reward close attention.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Diana series by Konstantin Grcic?
The Diana series is a family of steel side tables, models A through F, each cut from a single sheet of metal. Grcic designed them to be used individually or in combination, with each model offering a distinct silhouette and proportion.
How is the Diana B Side Table made?
The Diana B is fabricated from a single sheet of steel, with its form defined entirely by cutting rather than assembly. The powder-coat finish is applied as a deliberate formal choice, making color integral to the object's identity.
Can the Diana B be used outdoors?
The Diana B is designed for interior use. Its powder-coated steel construction offers durability, but the table is not specified for outdoor or exposed environments.
Who is Konstantin Grcic and why does his work matter?
Konstantin Grcic is a Munich-based industrial designer known for work that sits at the intersection of rigorous function and sculptural presence. He studied under Jasper Morrison at the Royal College of Art and has since become one of the most critically respected figures in contemporary European design.
How do the Diana series models work together?
Each model in the Diana series was conceived with combination in mind. Varying heights and silhouettes allow the tables to be grouped as a composition, creating dialogue between forms rather than simple repetition.
