Belgian artist Klaar Prims works directly with glass as a medium of sculpture, treating each object as a study in surface and light. The Billy Crystal Vase emerges from a process of cutting, hand polishing, and sandblasting, through which concentric circles radiate outward across the sphere's form.
The result is a surface that holds two states at once: transparent and opaque, smooth and tactile, geometric and organic. Without flowers, the vase reads as a self-contained sculptural object. With them, the refracting glass animates the stems and petals behind it.
