Rikke Frost was born in Denmark in 1973 and grew up in Bov, where an early interest in craft and materials shaped her approach to design. She studied industrial design at the Aarhus School of Architecture, graduating in 2000, and later worked in Denmark and London, including as a designer and buyer for Heal & Son. In 2004, she returned to Denmark and established Rikke Frost Studio in Aarhus.
Her practice focuses on furniture, lighting, and interior products, with an emphasis on combining materials and traditional craft techniques with contemporary production. Frost describes her approach through three principles: minimal, magical, and mindful, reducing unnecessary elements while introducing tactile details and moments of discovery. Her work has received distinctions including the Danish Design Award, German Design Award, and Wallpaper design recognition.
