Aude Tahon

Born 1973 | France

Aude Tahon is a French textile artist and designer whose work is defined by lightness, precision, and an exceptional sensitivity to structure and translucency. Her practice centers on an innovative handmade textile material developed from the traditional Korean knotting technique known as Maedup. Through this process, she creates jewelry, decorative objects, and sculptural textile works that evoke lace through rhythms of void and volume, shadow and light.

Beyond her studio practice, Tahon has also played an important role in the broader recognition of contemporary craft in France. Her official biography notes that she served on the board of Ateliers d'Art de France from 2012 and was president of the organization from 2016 to 2022, becoming the first woman elected to lead it. This dual presence, as both maker and advocate, reinforces a body of work that feels intellectually grounded, materially sophisticated, and quietly distinctive.
