Antonio Citterio's Tilos for Kettal translates the vocabulary of indoor club seating into an outdoor context, with a precision that resists easy categorization. The shell is formed in metal and wrapped in woven acrylic rope, a material chosen for its resilience in open-air environments and its quietly tactile surface.
The frame is available in teak or metal, each reading differently against the shell. Teak brings warmth and grain; metal holds a cooler, more architectural line. Both choices resolve cleanly at the joint between structure and seat.
Citterio's career spans decades of work with Italy's most demanding manufacturers, and his sensibility here is characteristically disciplined. The Tilos silhouette is generous without sprawling, low without losing posture. At 84 cm overall height with a 36 cm seat, the proportions position it as much for social atmosphere as for extended repose.
